One of the more interesting things about firms in China is just how randomly innovative they can be.

When reading through the article Bamboo keyboards expect to bring green life to computer users, I was expecting to learn about a local computer firm who had gone “sustainable” or an accessory manufacturer who was looking to use the green hook to get some new business.

Little did I know that it was a flooring manufacturer!

Selling between 80-300RMB (not sure why the range), it seems that the new product is selling:

Although bamboo keyboard is still a new thing to most computer users, it is nevertheless gaining popularity.

“We’ve delivered 20,000 bamboo keyboards to the wholesalers, and another 20,000 orders are awaiting delivery,” said Zhang Lina, a sales manager of the Jiangqiao Bamboo and Wood Industry Co. Ltd.,

With nearly a third of their staff working on the keyboards, and a monthly capactiy of 30,000, they are clearly looking for more orders.

Perhaps a spot on Treehugger or iHabitat would help them as it has our friends at Bambu (another fine bamboo based company)
