LOHAO City Organic

During a recent trip to Beijing, I came across the impressive Lohao City Organic Store north of the Guomao complex.
It was filled with bags and bags of grains, seeds, and other products, and what I particularly liked about their packaging was that it was transparent. English and Chinese labels, with province of origin. There were a number of items that were imported, clearly gaps in the Chinese system at this point, but this store was the most comprehensive I have seen to date.
Established by a group of people who love nature and are advocates of a health-conscious lifestyle, the LohaoCity Organic Health Store aims to connect consumers with the finest organics and top-quality health foods
On site, there were also some great books on organics/ cooking, and there was a space for a class (not sure what was on the schedule),and taking a look through their website I have also found a number of interesting columns (written by staff) and the pictures from their farms (they list 4) are also quite nice as well.

Too bad that Lohao shuttered its Shanghai locations more than a year ago.
