When briefing reporters on the progress on the recent Economic and Strategic Dialogue discussions, the issue of where the US and China stand on the environment came up, and Zhang Guobao, director of China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) said the following to describe the sideline discussions:
“We exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including energy efficiency, wetland protection, natural reserves and clean transportation. But we all felt that time is too limited for us to have in-depth discussion,”
Odd. I thought that the whole debate would have been important enough to warrant in-depth discussions.
