Hong Kong Implements Energy Efficiency Labeling Program

Following the recent moves in Hong Kong to clean the air, and reduce their footprint, policymakers have come together on another program meant to have a positive impact.

As detailed in the People’s Daily Online article Energy efficiency labeling to be a must in Hong Kong:

Air conditioners, refrigerators and compact fluorescent lamps for sale in Hong Kong will have to carry energy labels with information on their energy efficiency performance starting from Monday

A regulation that I would have thought would have been in place, the implementation of this regulation certainly upholds the old saying that it is better late than never.

Now, if they would only ENFORCE the regulations stipulating the A/C levels in retail malls..and work on their external lighting policies..
